Ed Rogers – Responsible Officer and Executive Director of WHAMAL, and Chief Executive Officer of Wolver Hill Group

Ed was previously Deutsche Bank Tokyo’s head of Prime Services sales and a member of DB Tokyo’s Equities Management committee.Prior to Deutsche Bank Ed was a proprietary trader at Merrill Lynch in London, specializing in yield enhancement and corporate action arbitrage trades. Ed received a BA in History from Princeton University in 1987, and an MBA from Georgetown University in 1999.

Yoshi Iizuka – Head of Research of Wolver Hill Group

Prior to joining Rogers IA, Yoshi was Chief Investment Officer at Traders Investment Management where he ran a $40 million Japanese equities long short fund and a $100 million long only fund.Yoshi managed over $4 billion of Japanese equity portfolios for public and private pension clients for twelve years at Bankers Trust Company. He was a member of asset allocation committee for Bankers Trust’s global asset allocation which oversaw over $100 billion of assets.At American Express Asset Management International, Yoshi managed Japanese equity portfolios for American Express Global Mutual Funds and US institutional clients.He was subsequently promoted to CEO of American Express Financial Advisors Japan Securities.Yoshi received BA in Economics from Rikkyo University in Tokyo in 1979 and an MBA from Claremont Graduate University in 1982.

John Inamine, – Chief Risk Officer of Wolver Hill Group

John oversees risk across the firm’s business lines. Most recently Managing Director, Risk Management, at Nezu Asia, John was previously at SPARX Asset Management where he built up the fund of funds business from $50 million in AUM to $800 million, and later served as Head of Alternative Investments in Tokyo. Prior to that, John traded equity derivatives, beginning at O’Connor and Associates in Chicago, then at SBC Warburg in Tokyo where he ran the Japanese convertibles bonds book, and later at Deutsche Bank where he headed the Japanese convertible bonds trading and sales team. John also worked as an auditor for Arthur Young and Company after graduating from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and prior to obtaining an MBA from The Haas School of business at the University of California, Berkeley.

Len Umantz, PhD – Responsible Officer of WHAMAL, and Head of Product Development of Wolver Hill Group

Len was most recently an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley New York’s Securitized Products Group where he worked on relative value and capital structure arbitrage strategies in credit and mortgage derivatives and oversaw development of quantitative models for mortgage-backed securities trading.Prior to that, Mr. Umantz worked in fixed income and foreign exchange derivatives trading at Susquehanna International Group in London, where he was a part of a global exotics / hybrids trading desk covering Europe, Japan, and Asia.Len holds a PhD in Finance from Stanford University and a MS in Mathematics from Northwestern.During his doctoral studies he worked for Goldman Sachs Asset Management in New York and Bill Sharpe’s Financial Engines in Palo Alto.

Ken Chuen, CAIA – Responsible Officer and WHAMAL’s Chief Operating Officer

Ken joined WHAMAL in 2015 and he oversees all business functions of the Hong Kong operations. Ken was previously the Chief Operating Officer with Matchpoint Investment Management Group where he oversaw all the business functions including the fund and Group’s operations, finance, human resources, technology, investor relations and compliance. Prior to joining Matchpoint, Ken worked at Deephaven Capital where he led the middle- office operations and trading support for their Hong Kong office. Prior to that, Ken held a similar role at Gandhara Advisors Asia. From 2005 until 2007, Ken worked at UBS Investment Bank where he had overall responsibilities for the middle office operations of the cash equity proprietary desk, and for monitoring operational risks within the team. Ken started his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers as a tax associate with a focus on US and HK taxation. Ken holds a double degree in Commerce & Economics from Monash University, Melbourne and the designation of Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).

Sandeep Mand – Responsible Officer and WHAMAL’s Managing Director

Sandeep joined WHAMAL in 2017 to focus on business development and bring risk oversight experience to the group. He has close to 28yrs experience in the Fixed Income markets having spent 22yrs in Japan before moving to Hong Kong as Head of Rates Sales & Trading Asia (ex. Japan) for Mitsubishi UFJ Securities where he was responsible for building out their nascent rates platform. Prior to this he was a Managing Director at Societe Generale in Tokyo in a similar capacity. His experience covers not only the front office sales and trading functions but also the legal, regulatory, compliance, finance, IT, and operational aspects of running a cross-border Asian business. Sandeep holds a BEng in Avionics from Queen Mary College, London and a MSc. in Management Science from Imperial College, London.
